About Camp County, Texas
Camp County is spread over 203 square miles, of which 7 consist of water, in the north west corner of Texas. It’s population is a little over 12,000 and the County was named for John Lafayette Camp, a lawyer and planter turned politician. It was John Jamp who introduced the Bill in the state Senate that created the County, which was founded in 1874 and the seat is Pittsburg, which is home for approximately 4,500 people and is known as the home of racing legend, Carroll Shelby.
