About Burleson County, Texas
Burleson County is located in the western side of Texas and has a population of approximately 17,000 spread over 677 square miles, of which 18 are water. It is named after Edward Burleson, a general and statesman of the Texas Revolution. Its county seat is Caldwell, which is notable for being the home of the Czech Heritage Museum and for the Kolache Festival, held on the second weekend in September.
Burleson County is the home of Snook, which is the venue for an annual Chilifest, a two day country music and chili cook-off. Since 1991, Chilifest has donated almost a million dollars to local organizations such as the Snook Volunteer Fire Department and the Burleson County Go-Texan.
